Possibly new segment on the blog: 5 Things from the previous week that I feel like sharing...
01. Pearl Jam Vs. Turns 22
"Vs." by Pearl Jam was released on October 19, 1993! I bought this album (on CD... that's Compact Disc) at the midnight release at Record Time (RIP) in Roseville, Michigan. The vinyl was released a week prior, which I also bought on release day, but just sold on eBay.

02. 120 Over 80
I recently upgraded phones and found that Weightbot (4-years of data!) was no longer in the app store and stalled my phone backup, so I had to find a new weight tracking app. Finally found Withings would allow me to import my CSV file and also sync with Apple Health. This lead me to looking into their product offerings and I have my eye on this Withings Wireless Blood Pressure Monitor Cuff. Here's an article that supports the use of automated cuffs and taking readings throughout the day: Traditional Blood Pressure Readings Get a Demotion.
03. Be Kind to Animals
Until we get serious as a society about the treatment of animals, stories like this will continue to be all too common. 93 days in jail isn't enough. A fine of up to $1,000 isn't enough. Up to 200 hours of community service isn't enough.
04. Grinta Cycling Kit
Personal projects are the best way for me to learn new things, so here are a few mocks I created for my dream Grinta Ciclismo Club kit. I'll probably swap out the Grinta font for my own brush script, but for now, here's a look at the jersey for the cycling kit.
Since it's a bit too late for cyclocross and winter kit designs, the plan is to have a kit prepared for spring and offer it for pre-order in early 2016 for anyone interested. I still need to select a clothing brand, which is tough for me since a 3X for most brands is about a Medium on me! BTW, I'm also available for kit design projects for your cycling clubs or bike shops as well.
05. Props + Props
I made it on Cover Junkie for my work on the Peloton Magazine covers with Nairo Quintana! This is a HUGE honor for anyone who works on magazine covers. So cool!
I've been accepted to be an artist on Casetify! They have some really cool case designs, especially the New Standard Case for the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus models, so I knew I wanted to create designs for these cases. Shop my Casetify Artist Collection! More designs will be added in the coming weeks.
Here are a few artists and designers I think you should check out!
Adam JK : Love the humor and wit! Check Out: Everything in his gift shop!
Pep Boatella : Just discovered Pep a few days ago. His unique illustration style is perfectly suited for book and magazine covers. Check Out: Volata Cycling Magazine cover art
Bianca Cash : If I could have handwriting like anyone else, it would be her. Check Out: Throw Kindness Around Like Confetti
Joseph Alessio : Animated typography and lettering. A fellow Michigander, but I'm envious of his recent move to Denver! Check Out: Off The Wall Painter's Tape Animation
Elias Stein : Big fan of his simplified illustration style, and I say that in the most positive way! I really like the way he uses the thick, bold outlines. Check Out: Memphis Grizzlies illustration
Hoodzpah Design : Big fan of the work produced by Amy and Jennifer Hood. Really cool self-promotional stuff, too. Check Out: Nicoletto's branding
Molly Jacques : Another fellow Michigander lettering artist that I've followed for several years, Molly also posts regular motivational and entrepreneurial tips. Check Out: Nike lettering
